Congratulations to newly credentialed member

The CMHP is delighted to announce that Katie Evans, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has achieved credentialed status to become a full member of the College.

Katie demonstrated her expertise in mental health pharmacy through the credentialing process, and she is now eligible to use the post-nominals MCMHP.

Katie Evans is a specialist mental health pharmacist working at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. She works within forensics, addictions and community mental health teams as well as acute adult inpatient services. Katie is also Consultation Lead on the CMHP Council.

When asked about what credentialing means to her, Katie said: “I'm proud to be joining the list of very accomplished Mental Health Pharmacists. Credentialing has been something on the ‘to-do list’ for the last few years but I never really found the time to dedicate to it. This year I ‘bit the bullet’. It was good to reflect on different workstreams and the reason why I love my ever-evolving role. Discussing my portfolio with the panel also gave me the opportunity to gain external feedback for continued improvement. Credentialing not only assures my colleagues and employers of my level of practice, it's given me a confidence boost - especially on those days when imposter syndrome tries to take hold.”

CMHP Registrar Nicola Greenhalgh said: “It is my pleasure to confirm that Katie has been successful with her credentialing application to the College of Mental Health Pharmacy. Her work to ensure patients are central to decision making and the way that she constantly challenges and strives to improve the work that she does was particularly impressive.”

Associate members can apply for full membership of the College when they have attained an expert level of working, with a minimum of three of five years active experience in psychiatric pharmacy practice (length of required experience depends upon relevant postgraduate qualifications).
