Safer Prescribing in Dementia

Some of you might be aware of the SCRIPT project (Standard Computerised Revalidation Instrument for Prescribing and Therapeutics)

It is an innovative, e-learning toolkit to encourage safe prescribing aimed at Junior Doctors.

The project was originally a joint venture between Aston, Warwick and Birmingham Universities supported by funding from the Strategic Health Authority and the Department of Health. Originally based at Aston it is now operated from Birmingham, University Medical School.

One of the latest modules is on safer prescribing in dementia and the group have allowed free access to this via the following link:

http://dementia.safeprescriber.org

Once you log in you will be directed to the dementia module via the Prescribing in Special Circumstances section. You will see that it has been endorsed by the Pharmaceutical society and there is to be a similar link on the Alzheimer’s Society website.
