The assessor of Dolly’s submission was particularly impressed with her research, commenting:

“Her research work and her dedication to making sure mental health patients receiving the right physical health checks shine through in her recredentialing application.”

When asked to comment on what she finds rewarding in her role, she said: “...the ability to form a therapeutic alliance with a patient who presents with complex mental and physical health problems which forms the foundation of a shared conversation about medicines optimisation. And that the outcome of the interactions that result is possibly a change or decision that has a positive impact for them and those that care for them. Nothing is more rewarding that knowing that these conversations and interactions can make a difference.”

On the credentialing process she comments:

“I have been a credentialed member of the college for a decade now. It is important to me and my practice to continue maintain and attain the required standard.”

Michele Sie is Chief Pharmacist at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. She is a former member of the CMHP Council.

Michele has had a number of successes in recent years, including winning an HSJ Patient Safety award in 2020 for the South West London and St George's Mental Health Trust in collaboration with South West London Alliance (Kingston, Richmond, Merton, Wandsworth & Sutton CCGs) in the Learning Disability Initiative of the Year category. This was for their project: Learning Disabilities Medicine Optimisation in Care Homes (LDMOCH) Service.

The assessor of Michele’s portfolio congratulated her on the award, for leading her team during the pandemic, achieving employee of the month in the Trust and also for her publication in a community mental health journal.
