New RPS/CMHP joint credentialing process

For several years, the CMHP has been working with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) to develop a joint advanced mental health credentialing curriculum and assessment programme for pharmacists in the UK.

The new joint credentialing between the RPS and CMHP has gone live and evidence can be uploaded via RPS credentialing electronic e-portfolio – see this link for further info and for access to the e-portfolio Advanced Pharmacist Mental Health curriculum. The core RPS advanced e-portfolio has been updated to include the specialist curricular learning outcomes.

Candidates have the option of mapping evidence to the new specialist learning outcomes. The following core advanced eportfolio functionalities have been updated:

  • Supervised Learning Events
  • File upload
  • Expert mentor report – Clinical
  • Patient survey reflection
  • Multisource feedback reflection
  • Learning needs analysis (LNA)
  • Programme of learning which links into the domain narrative section
  • Critical Narrative of CC / MH
  • Assessor view area

A demonstration video of the additions to the e-portfolio can be found on the RPS specialist webpages or on the RPS Youtube channel.

Between 2025-2027 the RPS/CMHP credentialing pathway or the stand alone CMHP credentialing pathway will run side by side. Two years after this - from May 2027 - pharmacists within the UK will only be able to follow the joint RPS/CMHP credentialing pathway. Pharmacists from outside of the UK and pharmacy technicians (within or outside of the UK) can continue to still credential via the existing standalone CMHP credentialing pathway described on this CMHP website.
