Recredentialing success: Carol Paton

Congratulations to Carol Paton on successfully recredentialing with the College.

Carol is Chief Pharmacist at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and has a wealth of experience in the field of mental health pharmacy. She finds it rewarding in her role to be able to use her training, experience and professional networks to continuously work towards optimising the use of medicines in mental health.

She values the process of credentialing with the College and says:

“Being credentialed by the CMHP is essentially an external endorsement that you meet the required competencies within your chosen speciality - as judged by those who know best; your peers.”

Credentialing is our process for assessing members' knowledge and experience; it demonstrates that they are experts in the field of mental health pharmacy. Credentialed members are full members of the College and can carry the post-nominals MCMHP. Members are required to recredential every five yaers, showing that they have maintained their commitment to continuing professional development and expert levels of practice.

Carol  was congratulated on her success by Assistant Registrar Roz Gittins who says:

“Carol put forward an impressive portfolio of evidence that shows she continues to be one of the leading mental health pharmacists in the UK. It is a pleasure to confirm her status as a credentialed member of CMHP.”
