The CMHP Travel Bursary

Our prestigious travel bursary is awarded for clinical or practice research in Psychiatric Pharmacy. Applicants must be associate or full members of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy. The prize is up tp £1,500 sponsorship to attend a major international conference of the winner’s choice. Further details

The CMHP Undergraduate Project Award

The award is for projects undertaken in mental health by undergraduate pharmacy students. The award will include attendance at the College’s annual conference with accommodation and reasonable travel costs included, plus a chance for the recipient to present their work as a poster at the conference. The award will be made to a winner and runner up. Further details

The CMHP Foundation Trainee Pharmacist Project Award

This award is for projects undertaken in mental health by foundation trainee pharmacists. The award will include attendance at the College’s annual conference, with accommodation and reasonable travel costs, plus a chance for the recipient to present their work as a poster at the conference. The Pharmacy Technician Project Award

This award is for pharmacy technicians and pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians (PTPTs) completing a mental health related pharmacy research or audit project during their pre-registration training course or within the first five years of practice as a registered pharmacy technician (in any sector of pharmacy - hospital, community, GP practice, for example. The award includes attendance at the annual CMHP conference, with accommodation and reasonable travel costs included plus two years' membership to the College. The CMHP-PRUK Research Award

The College supports research for the benefit of service users. In 2019, Pharmacy Research UK (PRUK) and the College of Mental Health Pharmacy (CMHP) are working together to offer full or associate members of the CMHP the opportunity to receive a Research Award for projects which aim to benefit patients with mental illness, and which contribute to enhancing the quality of care with psychiatric medicines through improving pharmaceutical services or ensuring safe and effective use of medicines. Further details

Education bursaries

Each year the College allocates funding to support postgraduate study for pharmacists and technicians working in mental health. Successful candidates receive £500 towards the educational qualification and past successful applicants include: Psych 1 and Psych 2, postgraduate certificates or diplomas, MSc or PhDs which have a significant focus on mental health. The bursary can be paid directly to the individual (if self-funding) or to your employer. Further details

CMHP Hardship Fund

The College hardship fund exists to support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians or pharmacy students who are in financial distress to attend a CMHP educational event for free. Applications are also invited for annual membership to be provided free of charge. Further details
